Nursing Home Complaint Center Wants To Hear From Nursing Home Insiders About Medicaid Or Medicare Fraud For Possible Reward
Washington, DC (Vocus) October 14, 2010
The Nursing Home Complaint Center is all about protecting our nation’s citizens from nursing home abuse, neglect and wrongful death, and at the same time, the group is one of the best branded resources for whistle blowers who have specific and provable information about Medicare or Medicaid fraud or over billing. The Nursing Home Complaint Center says, “if nursing home abuse or neglect victims, or family members of victims, had any idea of how much they were being gouged, or how much they were being over billed for services never rendered, we think there would be a national taxpayer revolt.” They say, “nursing home abuse or neglect costs people their lives needlessly, and it’s a national disgrace. Nursing homes over billing the taxpayers is not the exception, it’s the rule, it’s wrong, and we need courageous nursing home staff members or health care professionals to step forward, provided they have substantial provable information about Medicare or Medicaid fraud.” Nursing home insiders with specific proof of Medicare or Medicaid fraud can call the Nursing Home Complaint Center anytime at 866-714-6466, or contact the group via its web site at http://NursingHomeComplaintCenter.Com.
The Nursing Home Complaint Center says, “when it comes to insiders reporting Medicare or Medicaid fraud, there is a possibility of substantial rewards–but the information has to be new, and the proof has to be easy to understand and clear. Just saying Medicare or Medicaid fraud is happening is not enough.” The group says, “in order to be eligible for a government whistle blower reward, the information has to be significant, such as accounting records, census versus staff hourly records, e-mails talking about up-coding, or bundling Medicare or Medicaid bills, etc.” They say, “we want to do something about Medicare and Medicaid fraud in our nation’s nursing homes and hospitals, because it saves lives. But, we cannot do anything about this gigantic problem without proof from courageous healthcare professionals, who can prove their facility is cheating the government and its patients.” For more information, nursing home or healthcare fraud whistle blowers can contact the Nursing Home Complaint Center anytime at 866-714-6466, or contact the group via its web site at http://NursingHomeComplaintCenter.Com.

CareSource Denies Department of Justice Allegations
CareSource Denies Department of Justice Allegations
Dayton, Ohio (Vocus/PRWEB) February 01, 2011
Non-profit Medicaid Managed Care Company Asserts No Fraud
CareSource President and CEO, Pamela Morris strongly denied the allegations issued today by the Department of Justice which announced a financial settlement with the Dayton-based non-profit Medicaid managed care company.
“We have proven our not-for-profit model works in a growing for-profit health care environment. Our model is highly member-focused and demands being great stewards of taxpayer dollars spending more than 90% of every dollar we receive on quality healthcare for our members, while saving the State of Ohio hundreds of millions of dollars and providing predictability of budget. We are extremely unique in the industry,” Morris said.
“Because we are a mission-driven organization and because it is the right thing to do, we have always dealt with our relationship with the State of Ohio and the management of Medicaid funds with the highest integrity. The most important aspect in all of this is that all members received the care they needed during that time.”
“The Department of Justice has made several allegations, all of which we disputed. In the end, we chose to reach a financial settlement, bringing the matter to a close, and continuing to focus on our mission of making a difference in the lives of underserved people by improving their health care.”
CareSource CEO Morris stated that the organization is strong, that health and medical services to members will not be affected, and payments to physicians, hospitals, and other providers will continue as usual.

The Doubleheader: Medicaid Shortfalls, Public Unions and Spring Training

It’s always a pleasure to have the boys of spring and summer — syndicated columnist Mark Shields and New York Times columnist David Brooks — back in action together. In this week’s Doubleheader, we discuss the massive jump states face in Medicaid expenditures. As Mark points out, states can’t just go to China for a bailout. Another budget-related item in our discussion on the sport of politics section was the tensions in Madison, Wis., over collective-bargaining rights and public-sector unions, and how it may portend a larger trend.

Medicaid for Section 8 Tenants
If you receive a Housing Coupon Voucher (HCV) through a Section 8 program, you might qualify for additional help with your expenses through Medicaid.
Medicaid is health insurance that helps many people who do not make enough income to pay fully for medical care. For these people, the government might pay for some or all of the medical bills.
Requirements
There are certain requirements that must be met, including
your age,
whether you are pregnant, disabled, blind, or aged,
your income and resources (like bank accounts, real property, or other items that can be sold for cash), and
whether you are a U.S. citizen or a lawfully admitted immigrant.
There are special rules for those who live in nursing homes and for disabled children living at home.
You might qualify even if you receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Social Security Income (SSI). So it makes sense to apply for assistance, even if you are not sure whether you qualify. On the other hand, many people do not qualify; so do not make your plans entirely depending upon receiving Medicaid assistance.
In Michigan, you definitely qualify if you receive cash assistance through the Family Independence Program (FIP).
Even if you do not qualify, your child might. Eligibility is based upon the individual receiving benefits, not the guardian of that person.
Medicare vs. Medicaid
Since many people tend to mix up Medicare and Medicaid, we will help separate them for you here. Medicare is a federally funded (opposed to state or locally funded) program targeted primarily to help the country’s elderly population. It also helps people who are disabled or have end stage renal disease. Medicare comes in parts. Medicare Part A covers hospital bills. Medicare Par B addresses medical insurance coverage. Medicare Part D covers prescription drugs.
Medicaid is funded by national, state, and sometimes county governments. Besides the funding source, the biggest difference between these two programs is that Medicare is an entitlement program. Medicaid is needs-based program for which you have to apply and qualify.
It is possible to receive benefits from both programs.
