Planning for Seniors is Topic
of Program for Professionals in Williasmport and Wilkes-Barre, PA

For senior citizens and their advisors, change is the order of the day.
The Elder Law Firm of Marshall & Associates has gathered experts from across the
state to bring area professionals up-to-speed on all the changes in Medicare,
Medicaid, Special Needs Trusts and Reverse Mortgages.
Professionals who work with seniors are urged to attend the Elder Law
Professional Update being held Thursday, May 12th, 2005 at the Williamsport
Radisson and Friday, May 13th at the Woodlands in Wilkes-Barre. It will begin at
8:00 AM and wrap-up at 12:15 PM. The event will provide important information
for social services, financial, legal, accounting, health care and other aging
network professionals.
The program is sponsored by the Elder Law Firm of Marshall & Associates with
support from the Northcentral Pennsylvania Estate Planners Council and C&N Trust
& Financial Management Group. Topics will include a discussion of new
initiatives in long term care by Patricia Brady, Director of the Bureau of Long
Term Care of the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare.
In other sessions, Attorney Jeff Marshall will discuss recent significant legal
and regulatory changes affecting seniors; John Karsja of AFC First Financial
Corporation will talk about how seniors can use their home equity to pay for
care, and Attorneys Kathy Hendrickson of The Family Trust, and Kemp Scales of
Scales Elder Law will discuss what professionals should know about Special Needs
Trusts.
The program is free of charge and continuing education credit has been approved
for attorneys, accountants and personal care home administrators.
